Installation Overview
This extremely durable and high-quality adapter installs easily to the existing input bracket on top of your MK7 and MK8 GTI/Golf R transmission. No OEM parts need to be removed or modified during the installation process.

Performance Improvement
Once installed, the adapter plate reduces shifter throws by 28%. CNC machined out of billet steel and weighing in at 270g, the increased weight aids in shifting momentum and positive engagement, improving the overall feel of your shifting experience.

Manufacturing Quality
The adapter bracket is designed and manufactured in Boomba's own facility, right here in the United States, and all mounting hardware is included. 5ish minutes to install this little metal brick onto your stock shift linkage and it seems to have dramatically reduced shift throws and has not added extra effort or any negative behaviors.

5 minute install to shorter, more positive shifts. Hard to beat that.

Shifts seem substantially shorter, way more than the advertised 28% would suggest. Notch-ier, more positive engagement to each gear. Stupid easy installation. Easiest modification I've ever made to any car, and it's inexpensive. Really hard to beat. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to shorten the throws on their MK7 shifter.

Awesome product and great value. High quality adapter that fits like a glove. Easy install assisted by instruction video. Substantial improvement over stock. Makes gear changing more fun with quicker and sharper shifts. Well worth the money spent. Highly recommended - all the way from Australia!!!

Simplest short shift solution you'll find for the MK7

The hardest part of the whole install was the removal of the stock airbox. It really is only held in by plugs, so although you think you're gonna break something, it eventually comes off with a bit of wiggling and pulling. The actual install of the adapter is simple with the required tools. It's also incredibly well built, the craftsmanship truly shows. Throws are reduced massively and everything tightened up. Can't recommend this mod enough.

I purchased this along with the shift knob for my mk7 gti. Love them! First I installed this adapter just to feel the difference and it made the shifter feel and sound just like an Subaru Sti shifter. That amazing crunchy precise and somewhat short feeling. Literally took 10 minutes to install. Buy one!

This is one of the best mods ever. It's so easy to install and makes the GTI shift great! The throws are short and crisp. If you own a MK& GTI with a stick shift, you need one of these!

I bought both the trans. adapter and the shift knob. All I can say is wow it's like driving a little stock car the shifts are smooth and crisp you can feel the trans click into each gear. There is alot more feed back so you'll never miss a gear. I really researched all the different brand's and this was not only at a great price but it was the only one you could pull off in a pinch when needing a trip to the dealer (keeps your warranty in tack) great product wish I had thought of it.
