VW TRANSMISSION ADAPTER

I've never paid so little for something that completely transformed my shifting experience in my mk7 gti. It took me 10 minutes to install, and almost all of that was getting the air box out. The shifts are short, crisp, and reassuringly solid. Will be buying more products from these guys!

I'd read several reviews prior to purchase. With a few hundred miles after installation all is as advertised. The north/south throw is shortened up nicely without affecting side to side. Feels more solid and precise. Along with some other enhancements done on the clutch side at the same time, the car is much more fun to drive. Very pleased with the outcome.

Honestly I'm not sure what to say. Installation might have been one of the easiest things I've ever done to a car. The installation video helped a lot, though things were slightly different for the TDI sportwagen. Results are simply amazing. It's hard for me to understand how such a simple plate has improved the shifting feel. I didn't care for the feel of the stock shift, just felt limp or vague. The boomba adapter solved that for sure. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

10 months into my install of this quality piece and suddenly Reverse clunked into gear and then popped out as well as 1st. I was unable to attend to it as I was on my way to work and just used 2nd-4th and 6th which seemed unaffected. Fearing the unit had loosened after 10 months time, I was pleased to see that it was still firmly attached. The reason for this note is that I feel you have to add the step of "centering the cables" when you attach this unit initially, as I did. Knowing how to do that let me diagnose the problem and make the fix. It is simple, lock the gear box, releasing the spring cable ends, lock the shift lever in the car, release the cable ends, release the gearbox, release the shifter in the car and done. 5 minutes max. I did that and the problem went away. With any aftermarket product, knowing how the system works allows you to only freak out a little bit if there is a hiccup. Love the product.

Solidly-built and worth every penny. Completely changed the feel of the 6MT; gear throws are shorter and much more crisp. I'm still running with the stock plastic golf ball knob, and it feels like this device did more than just reduce throws by 28%. (I feel like that number should be larger!) My '18 Golf GTI's gear changes went from feeling long, vague and soft to almost what my former 9th and 10th gen Civic Si's felt like. That's saying a lot. Great product!

Just like the subject of my review states, this adapter really should've been my first modification. This adapter has completely changed my driving experienced in only positive ways. My shifts were not only shortened which results in faster shifting but the FEELING of my shifts are much more "solid", "weighted" and the car feels even more "sporty" than it already does. It's difficult to put the experience into words, you just have to feel it for yourself. I should've gotten this ages ago
